Decaying Into Many Items
We have added the ability for larger items to decay into multiple smaller items. For example, a large crate can now break down into its contents. This feature adds another dimension to the puzzle-solving as players must now intentionally decay some items and try to preserve others to progress.
Gym Level
We have added a gym level where we can explore the different interactions with all of the objects in the game and tweak the player. This level is currently accessible for players to test with as well.
Highlighting Consumable Objects
We have added a visual cue system that highlights consumable objects when players are nearby. This will help players determine which items are consumable. We will also likely be adding to this by emphasizing which component you are about to eat for clarity.
Added Controller Support
While some gamepad controls had already been implemented, a few were missing. This week, we added in the remaining controls, some of which are still subject to change.
Assets
This week, our artists have continued working on modular tiles that we can use when constructing our levels. These pieces can fit together in plenty of unique ways to make interesting designs.
Our art team has also continued working on more assets we can use as part of our puzzles and to decorate levels.
Challenges and Obstacles
- Fixing a bug related to an object decaying into multiple smaller objects while it was inside the player.
