Game Jam - "The Fun Part"

During the weekend, we participated in a game jam where we worked on creating a short demo level. We developed a prototype of the core mechanic of our game, eating and regurgitating objects around the level.

While the level was short, it did show that there were already multiple possible solutions even with only a few puzzle pieces. This is encouraging for the future of the game, since having more than one way to solve the puzzles will be essential for a fun game.


Art Direction

Our team has also been planning the visual style for the game. We have spent some time researching other games in the genre and discussing the approach we think will look best. Here is some concept art from our team:



Challenges and Obstacles

  • Figuring out ways multiple solutions to puzzles can be incorporated.
  • Learning how to use Unity for the first time, learning how to import assets from our artists into the game.
